Professional background

Kia ora, I am tau iwi migrant of European and Jewish decent, born and raised on unceded Salish Territory in North America. I am transmasculine, queer, and neurodiverse, with BA's in Theatre and Psychology, featuring studies on the overlaps of embodied performance and other creative meaning-making, spirituality, and mental health. I am a Graduate of the Hakomi Somatic Experiential Psychotherapy Training in Aotearoa New Zealand with supervision, and Student member of the New Zealand Psychotherapy Association. I am also currently training in Psychodrama towards PBANZ Certification as a Psychotherapist. My personal interest in Hakomi comes from my interest in mindfulness practices, in my deep respect for the equality and autonomy of people with minority experiences wanting a fuller life on their own terms. My personal experience is that a therapeutic relationship that embraces deep allyship, gentle experimentation, and a healthy dose of humour, can support that. I am also a professional performance artist. I have been working in theatre, comedy, poetry, public installation and in other venues for over 25 years. Art is also my joy, personal expression, activism, and profession. I do not believe we have to choose one vocation.
