Professional background

I’m a fully trained and registered clinical creative arts therapist, bringing over 20 years of experience supporting children and young people across a wide range of roles — including mentoring, youth work, pastoral care, education, statutory care and protection, youth justice, and therapeutic support.Throughout my career, I’ve worked alongside young people from diverse backgrounds, including those navigating anxiety, depression, complex trauma, emotional dysregulation, neurodiversity, FASD, learning challenges, and offending behaviours. This depth of experience informs my therapeutic approach, which is holistic, person-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based - with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness and individualized care. My practice integrates the creative arts with a variety of therapeutic modalities, including nature-based therapy, narrative therapy, attachment and family systems therapy, play therapy, mindfulness, and Indigenous models such as Te Whare Tapa Whā and Fonofale. I also offer psychoeducation to clients and their support networks to help foster understanding and resilience beyond the therapy space. Above all, I’m passionate about walking alongside children and young people as they explore their own stories, build on their strengths, and move toward greater wellbeing.
