"Unless you learn to face your own shadows, you will continue to see them in others, because the world outside of you is only a reflection of the world inside of you" - Carl Jung
I’m Amy Reis Williams, a compassionate therapist based in West Auckland, surrounded by the natural beauty that inspires my work. With a holistic, whole-person approach, I draw from my knowledge of psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, and Yin Yoga to support individuals on their mental health journey. I am deeply committed to psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on understanding the unconscious patterns that shape our emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. My work integrates mindfulness and self-awareness, helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves.
I specialise in trauma-informed care, offering support for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, family dynamics, sexual identity, addiction and more. With a particular focus on complex trauma, I provide specialised care to help clients heal from the impact of past experiences. Incorporating preventative medicine, lifestyle science, and behaviour change techniques to support clients in achieving their life and wellbeing goals.
In my practice, I integrate a range of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, the Conversational Model of Psychotherapy, mindfulness practices, Yin Yoga, infant development, attachment theory, and neurophysiology. My psychodynamic psychotherapy and trauma-informed practices through clinical studies undertaken in Sydney ANZAP, and Westmead Hospital in Australia, ensure my clients receive the most effective and up to date care.
With extensive experience in schools, crisis counselling, hospitals, research, and workshops, I have developed a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the unique needs of each individual. My qualifications reflect my commitment to providing the best care possible to my clients. I am dedicated to supporting you on your path to emotional healing, growth, and self-discovery.
